REVBENT I hear you. And well written. I do understand the sentiment and I do get the feeling you want well. Even if there’s a few people being very vocal about the situation on twitter, YouTube, etc, and the Godot foundation doing what they do (good or bad), we have to realise, this is not most people.
Most people just want to use their tools, do cool stuff, and hangout with other passionate people. To grow, create a product or whatever it might be, without having to be sucked in to other people’s agenda (referring to the drama that is taking place). And not let a tool or a company dictate their own public ideologic association. This doesn’t mean they are against (or for) whatever ideology that’s being pushed. It just means that people have their own things in life to worry about (specially in this current harsh economic climate), and they come to a place like this to mostly do a very specific thing that (hopefully) gives them a bit of joy, solve a problem or share a passion.
I think protecting that is very important.
With that said, I will have to think about what you are proposing. (and I want to let you know, I'm not dismissing what you are saying.). I appreciate your comments and I do think you make some valid points. 🙏
REVBENT considering the Godot engine itself has decided it can and will BULLY people they do not like <irony> (because THAT is what happened).
and
REVBENT EVERY opinion should be voiced/discussed as long as it doesn't promote hate/violence/exclusion
I have never and will never block, ban or censor someone for having a different opinion. As long as those can be made respectfully without personal attacks (and of course follow the rules), having opinions are fine. ( I sincerely hope people feel this way here ) .
Tomcat And a huge thanks to @MikeCL for being able to keep the forum alive under difficult circumstances.
