  • A super fast VISDEV of a "realistic" sci-fi character in godot. By no means complete at all..

A mix between the Expanse and the Book of Eli...science fiction and the apocalypse...my favorite genres ._.

  • Success!

I feel like an idiot..the solution was there in front of my face.

Just in case anyone wants an answer...

1.) Save your image as a png, or image format capable of having an alpha channel (RGBA)

2.) Under Spacial Materials -> Flags, Check Transparency

3.) Head to the Albedo section. Simply load your png to the texture slot and voila.

  • Hello,

Quick question, is there functionality for opacity maps for the materials in Godot 3?

I'm studying the material tester demo and it's looking wonderful. I am looking for the opacity channel slot, or anything related to it... but no luck.

    Any ideas or pointers? ChrisP

Hey Kiori, very valuable resource :) Thank you for the recommendation!!

  • Hello,!

    I'm a 3D technical artist, and I support Godot. :)

Languages of choice : Zbrush, Blender, Substance Suite

For Mobile and VR characters, visit these links. I collaborated with my good friend and business partner on a few games~ https://vimeo.com/197580600 http://paomod.com/ https://itunes.apple.com/app/id1222217925

I love to do realism as well, I think this is the style i will work with primarily in the future.

    (I Love cartoony stuff)

A video demo on retopology here: https://vimeo.com/235315534

The 2 images below demonstrate my understanding of and commitment to the Art pipeline in any game engine. I modeled these characters in Zbrush, took them into Blender for rigging and material management, Textured in Substance Painter, then imported and worked on shader networks/materials/textures in unreal engine 4.

    And thats it.

Take care, Go Godot. =) +FSF, Open Source, Mit, Stallman, Python, on and on

  • Looks very premature, you might want to add some graphics and an explanation for what this particular project is.

  • The IOR values will come in handy. Thank you _
