  • Any suggestions on how to create weapon animations?

Im having existential crisis. I dont know where to start, so that the work i put into, and time, is not gone in waste, by later redoing everything.. Ive made few of those mistabkes before 😃.

What i want to understand is how should i approach weapon animations 3D?

I have modeled a sword, all good, but how do i make it so that i can create cool swing animation for the character?

The idea is to have interchangable weapon models, so i guess i have to just animate the swing and then i can attach to bone my model.

Ok so this far i understand.. now, how do you create animations? Do you create just the arm swing, or do you include the whole body bones?

For now i just want my sword to swing in air, no arms, no legs, just the sword swing animation..

Should i create them myself or use mixamo? Is mixamo license royalty free? I dont have adobe account..

Does anyone know good informations on how to structure the nodes correctly for animations + model meshes

Atm i create one bone, and animated it to have idle and swing animations.. but my collision shapes are not following the animations, because the collision shapes are needed for the rigid body and that is the root node,
