kuligs2 do you need this for work? like you share files with the team
Yes. Including.
and once its done, you dont need it anymore?
No. Needs.
This project can be developed almost indefinitely (as additions to The Sims 3–4) and would like to keep access to those who want to develop it further, if we, for some reason can not do it.
Is the team local - the same origin country or international?
We're not limited to one country.
If yes, then you could like i keep saying, host the git instance locally on your hardware, computer
I have already written why this option is not very suitable now. But the project needs its own server and this issue is being considered, probably will be later.
If international, then you will have to ask one of the team members to set up vps or something..
If someone joins from abroad, this option will be discussed.
Now we decided to try bitbucket, since it is "a bit better than github", it might be suitable. If it doesn't work, we'll take a look at HelixDAM. Now we are working with exchanges , without VCS, like in the stone age. It's not very convenient, but we manage somehow.
xyz Go for the ultimate excuse:
What requires an excuse? However, this question can be considered rhetorical and does not require an answer. I have the impression that you have made up something for yourself and based on your fantasies (incorrect assumptions) you have created a completely wrong idea of the current situation.
so why bother with anything.
Of course, there is no need to bother about anything. The main thing is that you do not bother. Thank you for your attention to the topic and for the time spent on your answers!
