Hi there !

I am a dev by profession but I like doing graphical things on my free time

While experimenting with godot's builtin rigging / mesh deformation and I couldn't help but wonder if this is the right way to use it.
I am familiar with the said technique and have used it with blender (3d) and spriter pro (2d) for short animated films but never have them imported for an actual game (Which should be quite different)

So the question here is quite wide :

  • Godot's builtin looks like enough but is it easy & nice to use in the longterm for non-developpers ?
  • Is there any third party that have an actual integration with Godot (i saw spine had a custom godot version) that works well enough to replace / use base rigging system
  • In the long run what would you, from experience, choose ?(builtin / third party)

Thanks for your time !
