This is going to be one of those things that is painfully obvious when it gets pointed out to me isn't it? For the life of me I can't work out how to add a mesh to a particle even though multiple tutorials make mention of them but of course in typical fashion those same tutorials never tell you how to do it. Does anyone know where the setting is for this option? Would appreciate a response on this as I'm playing about a lot with effects now, found every other setting except what I'm looking for.

  • JUST DID IT! holy hell.

Import .obj file and drag it to the pass 1 it automatically accepts it.

Why are there no tutorials on this? LOL. Seems like .obj files are treated as something compatible with the mesh particle systems? Don't know about the back end, would be good if someone could explain in detail.

its in the 'draw passes' parameter

I'm definitely blind today, which option is it? Presumably one of the custom type ones but I have no idea how to import the mesh.

Lethn just select the desired mesh u want the particle to be drawn in draw passes. i usually just use a quadmesh

Ah, you've misunderstood me, I'm writing about using an imported custom mesh for a particle effect.

      Now it already is. 👍

Is there any way to apply textures to these particle .obj s? seems that maybe .obj textures are not supported on standalone .obj import surface materials. We can get .obj textures working as override materials. But then the particle system doesn't have UI for override materials?
