That video didn't strike me as any sort of attack, let alone a personal one. There's probably already a game similar to pretty much anything you can think of. I'd find it amusing if someone pointed that out to me about one of my games, only mine are so derivative that no one would bother. 🙂

Meternik Unless you have the Portal license, you wouldn't legally be allowed to make Portal 3, the owners would be within their rights to sue the pants off you for copyright infringement, and probably would... As I recall back in the late 80s (pre Internet) there was a very prominent case where Nintendo sued the crap out of US Gold for making Great Giana Sisters, which was a "Warts and all" carbon copy of Super Mario Brothers.

Valve is usually okay with people doing fan games of their IP, but it's better not to take the risk.

It is possible to try to create a shooter with strategy elements — a mixture of FPS and RTS. Although there have been such attempts and the results are quite interesting, but it has not been developed. Perhaps it is very difficult to balance.

Also, it is possible to create an emulator of life and go live in it. It looks like someone did something similar once. Except he didn't want to live in it. Or do you mean by "make absolutely everything," but within the extremely limited primitive technology of Earth's modern humans?
