Tomcat A new feature after the spammer raid?
I think so. We’ve been getting a lot of spam as of late so @cybereality I think enabled a plugin to help. It seems sometimes it incorrectly marks normal posts as needing approval as well though.

Maybe it's just flagging as questionable posts that contain links?

I'll do a test:
I came across this a long time ago when looking up Gnu. At the time, that Wikipedia article had a typo that gave the animal's height as two miles.
Yes, we're being raided by the spammers. I had to enable a plug-in to block them. Some posts may need approval if they look suspect to the plug-in.
I'll look into getting regulars whitelisted. I'm kind of busy today, though.
DaveTheCoder I'll do a test:
What was the result of the test? Was the post published immediately?
Tomcat Was the post published immediately?
Yes.
DaveTheCoder Yes.
The work of the algorithm is extremely strange. I posted a post very similar in style to spam and the post was published immediately.
Okay, so I changed the permissions. Approved members will not be hit with the spam filter. If you've been approved, you'll have a Godot logo next to your name.
I just did a few people for now, please let me know if everything works before I start adding more people. Thanks.
I'm a nice guy, so I won't charge you $8 like Elon Musk, LOL.
cybereality How do I get one?
One reason I stopped visiting https://godotengine.org/qa was because of link spammer everyday...
You know something I complained about this bizarre spamming behaviour in the Unity forums, the mods and staff were of course useless and didn't care so at least you guys are doing something about it. I think this is an attempt at post farming to make their accounts look legit, no idea why though but you see a lot of this nonsense on steam reviews and you see it's all just gibberish and meme reposting which of course Valve does nothing about.
Seems like spammers started flexing some AI wings
DaveTheCoder So the post was a bit of a Donkey then? gets coat
I had posts require approval, and not a single link to be found. Real weird.
The worst part is all the candy in those link spams were priced way too high. Whole Foods is a short walk away, there's no way I'm paying shipping on some keto gummies. Not that it matters, I love carbs.
The spam filter is not just based on links. It reads the text and also checks IPs, so if you are using a VPN that can cause issues.
In any case the spam was too bad, so I think we need it. If you've not been approved yet, just private message me and I'll add you.
