This project is basically in it's last few months of development.
I need to add some sound effects, a final boss level and some other tweaks.
I am currently going over all the levels, updating their visuals and evaluating if they good enough for the final version. Being a solo dev, my judgement may not be the best per se, but that's part of the appeal of indie games sometimes.
This project contains 70 levels, most of which are relatively short, beatable between 30 seconds to 5 minutes. And an additional 30 collectables in the hub. I think an average player will spend somewhere between 4 to 10 hours to beat.
While the levels are short, a lot of them are quite difficult. If you are not comfortable with 3d platformers, you will have a hard time.
That may not appeal to the general audience, but I think there will be some who will appreciate my game for it.
The level in the picture is super easy though. This one is so players can get to try out the "boat" mechanic, a left over of when the game was about island exploration. In the old version the boat was more made to travel between levels, so I barely actually made levels specifically for the boat. The few I had, most of them I deemed trash and won't be in the final. This level is only 1 of 3 that will likely be in the game.
Maybe if I ever make a second 3d platformer I may consider trying the island exploration idea again. I have already most of the mechanics and part of the story done anyway. But likely not my next project though. I want to try some other stuff out first. If I do though, should I continue this thread or make a new one?
