Gowydot I notice your character got no blending between actions (eg. stand to jump / dash..etc) Is it by design?
Sort of. I always debugged and play tested the game with keyboard and mouse. With a keyboard I can only move 8 directionally, which made the character look very snappy. That inspired me to make the animation snappy to make it feel more intentional. It makes it look a bit weird when using a joy stick with 360 degrees of direction.
I like it this way, makes it feel more comic-y.
I have fought about limiting the directions to 16 or 8 for a even more snappy look, but I figured that would make platforming more tedious with such arbitrary limitation. Maybe I'll consider it for the next project.
