Do we want to tie the tag directly to Godot thought? An advantage I can see with having it just “beginner” and “advanced” is that then it could be used for tutorials and tools too, to help make it easy to see who the intended audience is via the tag.

I’m also not super keen on having tags that could label the individual as a beginner rather than the discussion, but that is probably me overthinking than something that would be an issue itself. 😅
(Also - to clarify - I do not think that is what you are implying either by suggesting it! I just don’t want it to be potentially misused in a way that squishes users)
Maybe something like “beginner question” or “starter question”? Then it wouldn’t necessarily imply the person asking the question is a beginner, just the question material itself is that of a beginner. It could then also be used outside of programming/coding and could also be used for asset creation, music, etc.

I do think having a tag to differentiate from beginner/starter discussions from more advanced/tricky discussions is a good addition, I’m just not sure how we want to label it.

How about “beginner question” and/or “new to Godot” as tags?

Also: @Gowydot’s reply made me realize a couple additional tags we should add: “Godot 3” and “Godot 4”. 👍

But seriously I have to wonder if everyone would recognize it as easily as 'novice'.

I think "New to Godot" is better. As that would include beginners and also people switching from other engines.

Added Alpha, Beta and Stable tags, so you can use them in combination with the Godot version tags to further indicate what version you are using. Or use them to indicate the status of your own project. 😎

I think that would still be beta, though if there's enough interest I suppose it could also be added as it's own tag.

Gowydot When you make a new post you can add tags to it. Primary tags are like categories and secondary are like tags in Vanilla.
I can post some screenshots tomorrow if it would help. 🙂
