You cannot really transfer money without an intermediary.

cybereality Can there be different rules? We can transfer money by card details and phone number.
These would be handled as international transactions, it's probably a safe bet that if it's not using paypal it's likely using Swift or equivalent.
Financial transactions are complex and full of risks. It's best to use a professional service provider and not try to do it yourself.

DaveTheCoder Professional service providers no longer operate in our country.
Does shopping in shops also require the help of professionals?
Megalomaniak using Swift or equivalent.
Swift is much more humane.

Are you paying in cash? If not then yeah, a professional service of some kind is likely involved.

Which one? I pay by bank card the vast majority of the time. I used to pay by bank card for a rather large purchase (within the country) and all that was required was the number of that card on my card bank's website.
Don't banks have a direct communication?

You mean bank to bank wire transfers? Yeah that's a thing. Goes through Swift if available or via fax if not. If all else fails the last fall back is telegram, no not that new thing, the og telegram/telegraphy. But that's not what happens when a card is used at the register in a shop. Thats usually a visa or mastercard service. Which works usually on top of Swift as well.
Anyways, this is too much off topic for here.

I like the looks of this. (First time I'm here since this forum update.)
The only thing I really don't like is this infinite-scrolling thing, which for some very odd reason gained extreme popularity over the years (as did many horrible web design practices). It's not infinite, ofc, but it feels never ending. I'd much rather have a list of pages at the bottom. It makes it possible to follow a big thread as you have time, and it gives you an immediate view of how big it is and how far you are in it.
It's also bad for looking at the posts that were made before. You have to click "load more". I found myself many times in the past looking through older posts to see if I could help anyone that hadn't been helped (I don't come here often, but when I do I tend to look around), but with this system, if I want to get back to where I was the day before, I'll have click "load more" some 10 times or more... It's prohibitively annoying to go back too far.
I don't know... I don't want to sound like nagging or whatever, but it's just my opinion about this feature.
EDIT: I hadn't noticed before writing the post that there is a post count on the side, as you scroll. That makes it not as bad, I guess.
Is it possible to resize an image in a post?

I don't think so, but what is wrong with the size?

I wanted to shrink the little picture.
Just upload it at the correct size (e.g. resize it in GIMP first).
On a related subject, I just tried to delete an image that I had attached to a post, since the image was no longer needed to understand the post. I was able to remove the image from the post, and hide it in "My Media" in my profile, but I don't know if the file was deleted from the server.

It's not sporty.

DaveTheCoder Itβs deleted on my end, at least in the post.
Edit: I think it is deleted on the server but would need to check.

I attached a .zip file in a recent reply. The upload worked, but the tag generated was an image-type tag that displayed nothing. To make the attachment usable, I had to edit the post, copy the URL from the tag, and place the URL in the post. Then I removed the unused image tag.
I figured out how to get a "-1" in notifications. You have to put a reaction to the message, reply to the message, and then remove the smiley with the reaction. Or put the reaction, remove and reply. The exact order is not quite clear yet.
Update: Added plugin to make the thumbnails preview the first image of the post if there is an image instead of the user's avatar. For example, now when posting a project you can make the first image your project's logo or teaser image and that will show up as the thumbnail
