Here's one:
Discussed learning programming in another forum. Someone asked if they should start with C or Rust for getting into systems programming. I said C is pretty much a must, and not difficult to learn. It is actually a language one can get a complete overview in just a few days. That doesn't mean you can meaningfully use it, though, that requires several months of practice (not years like with C++). I also said Rust is good, but still changing rapidly, and C11 is pretty powerful already.
Jumped one crack butt first into my face yelling C89 is the only way. C99 is far too new and immature, and C11 isn't even supported everywhere, and it is a shame that all newcomers could gave away their opinion just like so.
