It's awesome that you love games and want to make them a part of your life! Pursuing a career in game development can be a rewarding and exciting journey. While it might take some time to develop the necessary skills, it's important to ask yourself if it's something you truly enjoy and are passionate about. If it is, then the journey will be worth it, even if it takes a year or more. Remember, to find out the most relevant career for you always takes time and dedication, but it's always worth it.

ChadBenton You can mitigate any risk by learning during your off time. Learning most skills are subjectively worth it in some way, but financially speaking to be quite honest with godot especially the returns could be absolutely dismal.

Any pursuit in life will take time and effort, whether it's playing piano or speaking a foreign language.
If you want to give it a shot, go for it, but you have to be willing to take the time.
Learn a bit game development, watch some tutorials in your free time and you will eventually get there.
Is it worth it? That's something you can only decide for yourself.

I would recommend checking out HeartBeast on youtube, he has some good beginner tutorials.
KidsCanCode and GDQuest also have very good content.
