  • Hop! 2D : a simple yet not-all-that-easy 2D platformer with 2 control keys !

JusTiCe8
Well done, world 3 is close at hand and you are only 2 levels from the current record hold by Pulse !

If you want to control Hop accurately (for example to avoid touching a laser gate after a jump like on your screenshot), you have to practise your "braking" : one direction to build momentum before jump, then the opposite one to not go too far. It's a important key to success. Once you're safe next to the orange laser, the level is nearly over as the last task is to shoot the boss before joining your girlfriend. And don't forget you can save your game at the end of any level (the 19th one may be a good idea !).

Hold on, I'm sure you will enjoy trampolines in next world !

Well done, you are the new leader of Hop! 2D !!
I will soon create a new page on my website to celebrate the 3 leaders of the game.

I guess these quotes from Churchill would be inspiring in the game (why not displaying one from a set randomly after each game over ? or beginning of a world):

    1. 'Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm'
    2. 'It’s not enough that we do our best; sometimes we have to do what’s required'

Wow, what a huge improvement, congratulations !! You've now become a solid leader and challenge is getting higher and higher !
So, what are your feelings after completing world 3 and defying its boss ?
And, by the way, what is your OS ?

A link to the RECORD page will be added in 1.1 version but I'm working on this page right now to make things clear.

As a reminder, here are the 3 current leaders of the contest :

    1 - JusTiCe8 : level 34
    2 - Pulse : level 16
    3 - Jonax : level 8

My last progress... I've bit blurred some stuff to let players coming there get the surprise by their own πŸ˜‰

This level is very tricky and mostly annoying as usual !

      JusTiCe8
Hey ! though tricky and annoying it may be, you seem to be hungry, don't you ? If you had played the original version of Hop! (a long time ago, I built it with Game Maker), you would have completed it as the 40th level was the final one. This one will make you sweat a little more...

For those who wonder, just a hint about what's blurred in the picture : these are references to a really famous video game everybody knows here...
Hop! 2D's record page will be online this week-end and it looks like I will have to update it more often than I thought !

        Asthalis πŸ™‚

I guess it's a bit of masochism, if you do something you hate very much long enough with enthusiasm, you'll start to really like it πŸ™‚
Quite a variant of Stockholm syndrome πŸ˜›

Anyway, this game may sucks for some, still it's an actual challenge to player's nerves and self-control, if you can play Hop! 2D with a smile and relaxed, you'll be able to face (almost) any stressful situation πŸ™‚.

I'm at the level where all questions get answered at once πŸ˜‰

As usual with this evil game, when you think you've seen the worst, something worst popped up ! Evil fans now ! What's next ? Bureaucrats ? An evil chimera of Bid-Trud-Cron-EyenOltz ?

Congratulations to the most persistent "bored player" !!
You're right, each world will bring you something new to master (sometimes more !).
If you went this far, you should consider looking at secret codes and monitors, you're likely to find useful hints...

I promised you a RECORD page to keep the thread of the contest : here's the new RECORD page !
Even if I don't mention it here, it will be updated after any record is broken.

The links to my latests VIDEOS have changed : here's the updated VIDEO page.

[unknown] Congratulations to the most persistent "bored player" !!

          Thanks πŸ™‚.

Secret codes doesn't not provides any super secret stuff so far, I go for a monitor from time to time but I did not get all.

If you are thinking of making another nerve-on-the-edges game, you may take a look at Tractor Beam, it's not constant jumping there which drive you crazy, it's the gravity.

Next update (1.1) of the game will include a direct link to the RECORDS web page.

          it's a tie for now πŸ™‚

EDIT: (screenshot updated) these two or three fans together are terrible !!! It reminds me Infernal Runner, Impossible Mission 2 and such games.

Wow !! The competition is getting fierce !
JusTiCe8 leads again by a tiny bit !

The RECORD page is updated on my website, it will be directly linked to version 1.1 of the game.
By the way, v1.1 will also include my new best level times (I improved more than 50 of them).
