The only thing I used as programming is GML from Game Maker (Though I did nothing complicated with it) and I use Clickteam Fusion for 2D games but I'm interested in making a basic 3D platformer game like say, Mario 64, classic Tomb Raider games or classic fps like Doom or Quake and the kind, ofcourse I intend to make experimental games first but even for a person with little programming experience how is Godot engine? for building basic/simple 3D platformers/fps/games? Game Maker can make 3D games but it's far too complicated and it's 3D engine is awful since it's not meant to be a 3D game maker and Clickteam Fusion can't make 3D games at all afaik
Other 3d engines I looked at
Ambiera CopperCube: Can make 3D games but it's very limited, while I do like it's no programming approach it's still awful even for basic games, I tried this game engine btw
Unreal Engine 4: Never tried this one but after searching for "UE4 non-programmer" I read that you can make great games with it just by using "Blueprints" which can be compared to Game Maker events and Clickteam Fusion event scripting from what I read, idk if you can make 3D games with blueprints tough but I'm considering trying UE4
also I am not much of a modeler, I use Milkshape 3D to make simple (and awful) models with simple animations
either way I am gonna give Godot engine a shot someday, I read Godot programming is easy to learn so I can manage something I hope but how easy it is to make simple 3D games with Godot for non-programmers/limited knowledge on programming?
