Hello everybody, I'm new to programming and making games, did some tutorials for godot but I see that i have a long way ahead, I'm a Teacher and my maing goal is make some mobile educational games for my students and if they're good later on put them in Playstore. 😃

Chola Simmons here, from Africa. I've been following Godot (and downloading it every single time there's a new version) but never really made anything worth sharing.
I figured joining a community and speaking publicly about my ideas might help me get things moving out of my head into the 3D planes of the game industry!

Currently I'm interested in a top-down 2.5D space "shooter type" of game, it's all concepts and prototypes for now but I wouldn't mind collaborating with anyone out here 😎

Hello, I'm Memori. I have no experience at all in making games or programming. I've been following Godot's tutorials but if I had to make anything from scratch myself, I don't think I could for now. But even just from the tutorials was a fun experience for me so I want to learn more and make games. It would be harsh journey juggling with my job but it'll be a worthwhile journey I'm sure.

        Hi guys

        I'm new to Godot

I'm intrigued by Godot, because I once saw GD Quest, youtube channel that teach Godot with cartoonish yet simplistic and easy to engage.

Hope to learn and share a lot with you guys

        Thank you

          Memori

          Earvin

          Big welcome!

Earvin I'm intrigued by Godot, because I once saw GD Quest

Yeah, GD Quest is awesome! I can also recommend their paid courses, which are really well made and put together. Also fun to follow.

          Hi everyone!

I've been using godot as a hobby for about 3-4 years now, and it has been quite the journey. I come from a professional programming background, being a web developer by trade for roughly 7 years. My interest in game development started in college, trying to learn the ways of the very new Unity engine for a college course, and found it too difficult to work with. Thanks to godot, I have been able to learn so much more than I did in the college course I was enrolled in back then, and have actually managed to finish my first game last year as part of godot wild jam!

This year I have a few goals, one of them being to get comfortable creating games in 3D, and another is to be more active here now that the forums are back

I'm excited to see what everyone is up to around here! 🙂

Hello Yirazk from Spain here. An old programmer that would love to learn how to make games, and want to start with Godot. Wish me luck

              kevinyoung Nice! And welcome!

Yirazk Hi Yirazk! Warm welcome, and good luck! 😃 You have come to a good place. There are great people here who share a passion for making games.

Hello. I'm absolutely new to programming but have been learning a bit on my own. I'm hoping to meet more people in the same boat and learn more together. I hope I'm in the right spot.

Olivep3a_ Hi there! Welcome! I absolutely believe you have come to the right spot. 🙂

Hello! I just started Godot 3 or so days ago, so far I have been attempting to wing it the whole time, as I have no relatives that know anything about programming, and the only language I had knowledge of beforehand was a little bit of python. So I guess that I will be making more than a few discussion on this forum.

Primitiveman495 Hi there, welcome to the forums! Digging in and experimenting is a good way to learn. 🙂 Looking forward to those discussions

Hi, I've been dabbling on my first Godot game for 3 months now, I have only little coding experience and have been developing games only like 20 years ago as a kid (The Games Factory, anyone remember? That was some wild era of game making!) I have also been composing music for this commercial game called Barotrauma.

Now I feel I'm getting the hang of it, and I wanted to share my first playable project, a surreal and dark plot-driven platformer: https://gullgamesh.itch.io/night-in-nothinglands I should make a showcase topic out of this, right? I'd be really excited to hear feedback and learn new things about how to make my game even more engaging.

Really glad to be here, Godot is a really good program and this community seems nice too!

My name is Connor Jade and I've been working on my game since last 3 months. It looks like it have been in a pretty good shape.🙂

                      Hello!
I started as an artist then jumped into gamedev. I've been working on Godot for a while now. No complete game yet, only building small ideas or individual features. I'm trying to learn how to use godot efficiently and how to build a clean code structure.

I decided to join to give back to the community as much as possible and also to learn and interact with others as well 🙂
