Good day everyone! Good mood to everyone!
Lets introduce ourselves!
Hi. I'm Steve. Been in computers since punch cards (IBM 370/115 running DOS/VSE). I live in Kentucky just across the river from Cincy. I'm learning Godot because I was halfway through Unity's track for learning Unity and then they decided to become, uh, unhinged. Why was I learning Unity? Because my grandson in second grade, and is a very talented artist, decided he wanted to make computer games. Tried to narrow it down. Do you want to make the graphics? (Crazy artistic.) Design? Storyline? Programming? His response was, "Yes." Ok.
"So," I asked, "What brought this on?" "I want to make games with Unity." Brain stopped working for a millisecond, then... "How in the H*££ do you know about Unity?" "Oh, my classmate writes games in Unity."
So, I bought him a year of Tynker and turned him loose. Started learning Unity so I could help him. I'm now anti-Unity and decided to give Godot a whirl.
I'm Latte and I wanna learn how to make video games!
Hope you are having a great weekend! And welcome to the forums!

Hehe.. I can relate to this! Really sweet that you are helping your grandson.

Hey, you have come to the right place
Hey hey. I'm trying to wein myself off of reddit and twitter and participate in actual forums dedicated to my interests. I'm an on-and-off game developer (depression sucks). It's what I've always wanted to do for a living, and I've been trying to overcome obstacles to make it happen. I've only ever worked on one game that shipped, but that was many years ago for a long-defunct console. I've only worked on 2D games, using Pygame, HTML5/Javascript, and Construct 2. I never got proficient with Unity or Unreal, and both engines eventually outgrew my old computer (which is now broken).
I need a new start. I just picked up a USB-C OTG hub, and want to finally learn Godot on my android phone using Samsung DeX. It's my only option as I can't afford a laptop. I have GIMP but the UI doesn't scale with DeX given it uses a Linux sandbox, so I might have to bite the bullet and learn Krita. I heard there's a way to get Blender working on android. If I can do that, I would also like to finally learn Blender.
Anyways just introducing myself. I hope this goes well for me. Have a great day!
Hi I'm Cici, i'm a 27 year old artist with some coding experience but not much (My first coding engine I used was Ren'py). I'm currently trying to learn Godot so I can make a 2D RPG sidescroller horror game inspire by the myth of Hades and Persephone. I look forward to meeting you all and hopefully learning more about Godot, thank you and have a wonderful day

Welcome! I hope this place will help you move forward with your goals! And really interesting hearing about your hardware. I'm very curious to hear about your experience with it. I'm sure that will be an inspiration to many.

Hey, welcome!
Hi! I'm new to Godot and game development in general. I'm not the best at coding and programming but I have experience using different programming languages over the years. I have started learning Godot recently and have followed some tutorials, but now plan to get out of "tutorial hell" so I can understand how the engine works and how to make very basic prototypes by tinkering around, rather than follow fixed sequence of instructions by more experienced developers. I hope to find some answers to questions that may arise (and have already arisen) in my course of learning.

I just wanted to say that I'm very very excited about Godot 4.2 (code regions and forced integer scaling are going to be so freakin' awesome) and that I am in awe of this incredible project and each and every one of the contributors. I'm really looking forward to the future of Godot and am using it for my first, serious game project.
It's great to be here and it's great to see the forums up-and-running!

Hello! I'm Jeff, and I've just started learning Godot about a month ago, via the Zenva courses that were available through Humble Bundle. I've finished all of the Godot 4 courses, and have moved on to doing a YouTube tutorial for creating a Tetris clone. I'm coming to game dev from being an artist and having done design for tabletop games, so my main focus is to try to get a strong enough base in GDScript that I can launch my own projects.
Howdy, everyone. I'm a newbie, just starting at godot. My english isn't that good, because I'm from Brazil. I'm trying to start a journey as a game developer, as a hobby during my college. I know the basics of python, c, and javascript, but I'm just starting, and don't know much. At the start, almost just doing all by myself, trying to develop new skills, like art, music and animation.
I'm also glad to be here!
Hello Folks. I'm a 3D generalist using Godot at the studio I'm the lead for. I've worked with 3D for 12 years. Hoping to learn a few things about Godot and maybe even 3D while I'm here. Thanks for having me.

Hello guys, like @grimm_, I'm also from Brazil. I used Unity for a long time and became one of the many outraged by the recent disastrous policy change. In the end, it turned out to be good, because I found Godot, an impressive game engine so far. I'm C# to the core and hope to learn a lot from you guys.

Cool background, I would love to see more projects push 3D.
A warm welcome to the forums!
Sivasu_Bramanian nice to see another brazilian bros here. welcome to godot, bud.
good luck, and have a nice day!
Hello everyone,
I am a hobby programmer from Germany. I have started about 20 years ago at the age of 16. Nearly all my projects have been small games. No skills, no engines, just pure enthusiasm and lots of spare time.
I miss the good old days sometimes so a week ago I run across Godot engine and use it to develop games for fun.
As of now, I could work around all my problems but feel that the times, where I need the help of more experienced game developers, is close. So that's why I am here. ;-)
There is a second reason, actually: I would like to discuss on how to improve GDScript. Is "Godot Help > GDScript" the right place for this?
Thanks!
