Hello all! Happy to be here and to meet new like-minded people! I've been an avid "gamer" for over 25 years. Throughout my life I have tried picking up game development many times; now that I am 33 with tons of life experience and growth, I feel I am up to the challenge and can grasp the concepts much better. It's been a very slow journey, but for about 1-3 years now I have been making an active and honest attempt at learning game development. I started on RPGMaker for fun when I was younger, and was able to grasp Game Maker Studio quite well, despite the many hurdles I couldn't overcome; I decided GMS's model wasn't very.. pure (best I can describe it), so thankfully I moved on. I've tried Godot in the past, but was lost on which direction to take, I decided to try Unity; learning C# for the simple games I want to make at the moment didn't seem appealing and the massive amounts of stress from learning it wasn't worth it to me. So, now I have fully decided that Godot is the place for me, it's the most wholesome project I've ever seen within the game development world! I'm still a newbie, but I already know what I want to create and how it should be; I just have to learn to translate it into some kind of programming language, and GDScript has been easy enough to grasp so far. No doubt I will have many questions and will need mentors to guide me, as well as connect with people on a similar skill/knowledge level, thus I am here introducing myself looking for community.
Cheers!
