I like the dithering, but it may slow down your development time. Makes the character more interesting, though.

Yea, I think the dithering will make the game go from looking like a late stage beta to a final product.
But since I still have to do all the code and stuff, it's not as important to do right now.

Character 2.
This guy will be the protag's friend.
I made him taller in pixel height than the previous character,
mainly so he will fit better on screen without his lower torso being cut off.
I will need to update the previous character have a stomach as well, but that is an easy fix.

I added in the background just for fun.

I thought it'd be funny to take a very old artwork of mine and reimagine it with my current way drawing. I tried to keep her somewhat accurate to the old design, only making big changes if I felt like it would add to the character.
Which is why I kept the poker hairpin and the hair/head shape.

In the redesign, the first thing I wanted to change was the weird body proportions. Particularly the chest.
I'm all for for some sexiness, but this character I like to keep mostly classy.

The eyes, while technically changed, is also technically not changed. 👁️ 👁️
When I can, I love reusing old stuff.
The new eyes is actually just an even older version of the eyes, but with some minor changes and red.
The reason the eyes are red instead of blue in the new version,
is for contrast. I felt blue blended in with the purple hair too much.

I did change the vest buttons to gold, because I have a very old 3d model I made of this character, which has gold buttons.
No one but myself gets the reference. It's the kind of thing that pleases me and only me. 😈

Anyway, I just love reusing old assets and making them new.
An asset is only wasted if you refuse to use them again.

As an important post note:
I will probably scrap the fishing game idea.
Instead focussing on a visual novel.
So don't be surprised if I change the title to "visual novel project" at some point. 😛
I will share new project details later.

Alfred2 Sad to hear the fishing game might get scrapped

Yeah. My main problem with the fishing game idea is that I cannot figure out how to make it fun.
Programming the mechanics is easy, but I cannot program in the fun.
In the state it is right now, it's only fun for a few minutes.
Until I have a real good idea of how to make a fishing game worthwhile to play,
I can only put it in the on-hold list for now.
I will have to play some fishing games down the line to see how other devs have done it. 🐟️

Those are my favourite types of designs.
As artists, we can keep stuff simple and generic,
but the ones that truly love their craft will put in little details most will likely miss.

Basically the previous version, but with dithering and some other tweaks.

Also adding in an unnecessary colour palette is my new favourite thing to do. 🎨
Although it's not an accurate palette, since one colour isn't even used...
It was used, but not in this version, yet I still decided to include it.

I had to make her off centre so the text would fit on the screen.
She's been staring at me with her red eyes and smug.
Like she knows something I don't.........

I made his suit white.
I didn't feel like picking new colours,
so it uses Violet's palette for the new suit and hoodie.

Whenever I have to deal with some customers,

And I don't feel like being awake for too much longer.

I didn't picture as a cheesecake snob!
Most people wouldn't even think
what you said are real words.
But..
What I had in mind is savillum!

Daniel:
..savillum?

YES!

You know what that is, right?

Daniel:
No.

Violetta:

Well.
How would I describe it?
Savillum is made with cheese, flour,
honey, egg and poppy seeds.
No crust.
It's more dense than most cheesecake.
It doesn't use sugar,
most of it's sweetness comes from the honey poured on top.
So while the cake will taste heavy and tangy,
the outside will be sticky and sweet from the honey!

Daniel:
That... doesn't sound too bad.
I am still not sure how the poppy seeds fit in though?

Oooh!
Don't think too hard about it!
If it worked for our ancestors,
it will work for us too!

Out of chaos, the universe was born.
And so were the building blocks used by the Gods.
The Platonic Solids.
A set of 5 unique shapes,
each representing an element.

The tetrahedron.
A 4 sided pyramid, made out of triangles.
Sharp and pointy.
Associated with fire.

The hexahedron.
A 6 sided cube, made out of squares.
Stable and stackable.
Believed to what the earth is made out of.

The octahedron.
An 8 sided diamond-like shape, made out of triangles.
It floats and believed what the air around is made out of.

The icosahedron.
A 20 sided ball-like shape, made out of triangles.
It rolls fluidly.
The very thing the water
underneath this very ship
is made out of.

But between the 8 sided octahedron and 20 sided icosahedron,
there exists a special shape.
The 12 sided dodecahedron.
While most others,
besides the cube,
are made out of perfect triangles,
this 12 sided shape is made out of pentagons.

While the others have a clear place in the physical world.
Fire, earth, air and water.
The dodecahedron serves as the key separating us to the divine.
Created in chaos,
used by the Gods,
to create and shape the universe around us.
The aether.

All 5 encompassed in the shape of chaos and infinity.
The perfect sphere.
A shape with no sides and no edges.
A shape made out of no triangles or infinite triangles.
A perfect shape that cannot exist in an imperfect world.
Yet it is what the universe tries to replicate.
Gravity does not have a consciousness.
When matter is small,
it creates odd shapes like asteroids.
However, when it attracts enough matter,
the shape naturally turns spherical.
Even in chaos, order exists.

In fact, all the storylines used in culture (literature, film, etc.) trace their origins back to Ancient Greece or even earlier. This also touches on the issue of copyright.
