Hi,

I want to get AO inside a space (box, closet, etc) with its lid/door closed. Intuitively I thought if the light's shadow and lid's shadow cast are disabled, I'll get the AO. But not only I didn't get it (the box interior was pitch black), but also the baked GI showed the shadows by that light elsewhere! Did I do something wrong or that's it?

    pames If a lid is closed then all ambient light would be occluded so pitch black is in fact the correct result as far as the ambient occlusion goes. Is your light set to full bake or just indirect bake?

    The light was full baked. I am changing my approach anyway. Because the lids and doors are identifiable by a naming pattern, I'll simply change their position with an editor tool before baking and put them back afterwards. Not exactly what I wanted but still my best option, so far. But it will be nice to have a lighting source that can be baked without shadows.
