GodotBeginnerRich I've tried GIMP and Aesprite, however seeing as I suck at graphic design, I need something a bit more newbie friendly. Can anyone help? I am aware of Google.
chemscobra Hey @GodotBeginnerRich!. You should try Pixelorama https://orama-interactive.itch.io/pixelorama
GodotBeginnerRich chemscobra Thanks, however, I downloaded the Linux flavour, and I can't get the file to run, I've extracted it in Ubuntu's files app. HELP!
trizZzle There is Piskel https://www.piskelapp.com/ in case you want to create pixel art. You can use it in your browser or download it for windows, linux, osx. Compared to Aseprite it is a lot simpler.
GodotBeginnerRich I managed to get Pixelorama to run, I just suck at drawing sprites 😢 I know Halloween was the week before last, but I have an idea for a little platform game using a Dracula sprite. I know it's been done back in the early 90s (Kid Dracula on the Gameboy) but it'd be an original twist.
GodotBeginnerRich Well here's my first attempt at a Vampire sprite, rubbish innit? 😆 It was done in Piskel by the way, thanks for the recommendation 🙂 Here's an updated animated GIF, Dracula to a Bat, I tried.
housatic Hi! I'd recommend reading Pixel Logic, TBH you could find most of what it talks about online for free, but it's only $10 to have it all in one place and nicely presented. Pixel art has an advantage that if you're working on a tiny canvas, you really don't need to know how to draw that well to be able to make something nice. When I was starting out drawing I learned pixel art techniques before I learned basic human anatomy 😆
Toxe housatic Hi! I'd recommend reading Pixel Logic I just bought this, this looks absolutely awesome!
