Just downloaded Godot 4 and in many menus a notification for Reshade appears:

Pressing 'Home' doesn't do anything. I've installed Reshade on some other games I play but it doesn't seem to be anywhere near Godot. How is this happening? How can I get rid of it? Thanks.

  • I considered the AI response seriously, but found out that Godot hasn't included Reshade as part of it's installer in the past. Reshade also doesn't touch the registry.

Nevermind since I found the issue. Reshade used to be able to be installed to Vulkan globally, and I guess I must have ticked that box during installation. It's stored in "C:\ProgramData\ReShade". I deleted that folder and it fixed it. Hopefully this helps anyone with the same issue.

It is possible that a previous version of Godot you had installed included Reshade as part of its installer. Even if you've since uninstalled the old version, the Reshade settings may still be included in your registry. To remove it, you can try manually deleting the files associated with Reshade and also scanning and cleaning your registry with a program such as CCleaner.
