I have completed a demo of my game "Cube Man Gets a burger with a side of fries".
The game isn't perfect, but its just a demo.
I would like to know about any improvements I could make to the level design and/or the mechanics.
I already know of some bugs, but please comment on any bugs you encounter.
The game's humor is a little edgy, so proceed with caution.

A demo of my game is up on itch.io, play it!!!!
I was going to mention the lack of sound effects, but the end screen on the demo said you were already working on that.
aside from that though, the death and level ends are way too sudden and abrupt, having it happen instantly is kind of jarring. there were some parts I couldn't tell what killed me until my fourth or fifth death because I had no time to take in what had happened.
also, it would help to make the red death squares have some kind of subtle warning in the parts with pure darkness. three of my deaths in that section were from being completely blindsided by a square I could not have seen coming soon enough to react to it.
other than that you're doing good ️

Thanks for the feedback!
I might make the dark section's light a little stronger to alleviate those issue.
Did you think the tutorial animations were to confusing? I thought they were but others that I got to playtest it seemed to catch on to mechanics.
At first I thought the tutorial animations were windows but they were actually quite well done. Not bad for a first game!
Thanks! Though I'm not done with it yet.
Also this isn't technically my first game, as this is a sequel.
I had 3 other games before this, two demos and and "finished" game.
I privated all the other games because I felt that they were really lazy and just cluttered my page.
This game is a remake of the finished game, but with all my effort put into it.
Hey man! Lovely game! I really got hooked hehe... Would love to play this with a gamepad though
I tried to implement the gamepad earlier, but there were so many inputs to choose from and I didn't know what to pick. I'll look further into it later.
I would also recommend trying to speedrun this game. I tried to design this game to be very quick, and I plan to make the levels even smoother to blast through.
My PB is 1:10.96 , try to beat it.
Another thing to everyone, follow my itch account so you can get updates on the game!
The text is way to small, I can hardly read it. Also it scrolls way to fast, hardly any time to read it.
The wall jumps feel very unresponsive, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I would suggest changing the jump button to the space bar.
Otherwise, fun demo. ️
SuperDoomKing
I'll add an option for the spacebar.
For the text, that is ABSOLUTELY a bug.
This didn't occur with other players, maybe try reloading the scene by pressing P
Usually its in the middle of the screen.
I'll also change the auto-scroll speed to 3 seconds.
I haven't had any issues with the wall jump so far. If I had to guess the issue, it would probably be that it wasn't clear that you had to hold a direction to wall jump (up + right/left)
Thanks for your input!
Vickyboi
For the text, I think it's just a case of not scaling with screen resolutions.
My screen is 4k, much bigger than most players, so I often get this issue when games aren't made with different resolutions in mind.
SuperDoomKing
Oooh, that makes a lot of sense.
I'll try to fix that.
Again, thanks for your comment.

reminds me, I was gonna mention that your walljump tutorial animation might benefit from having onscreen arrow commands. took me a bit to realize I have to continue holding left or right while hitting up even while I'm in the air for it to work consistently. it's kind of an awkward setup, honestly.
edit: if you read what was here before, never mind. instead I discovered my initial assumption was correct and there's a bug that lets you wall jump in the first level without holding the left or right arrow keys.
samuraidan
where does this happen in the level?
I'll fix it. Ill also probably add arrows to the wall jump tutorial
Vickyboi open up the game and immediately go left. that wall lets you infinite-jump using only the up key. it doesn't break anything though.
I see it.
I'll probably take the easy way out and cover that area with red blocks for now.
If the issue occurs again I'll look back into it.
