As the title says, this is now a music discussion. Share what you're into, maybe share what you've made.
This thread was absolutely made by me so I can find more stuff to listen to. If you know any good sad boy rock or piano, it'd be cool if you shared. I'll share a bit of what I know that you may haven't heard of.

Japanese Alt-rock band. They'll do whatever sound they feel like, but this is one of my favorites.

Discount MCR. They came out with this album in the mid 2000s when darker sounds and neo-goth type of stuff was huge. Otherwise their other albums were pretty generic pop-punk, I think.

I don't know if this happens to everyone, but I've stopped following music as I got older. I think the last time I bought an album for myself was around 2010. Every now and then, I'll listen to something on youtube, but usually only following someone's link. I've got a dozen albums on my phone, but I mostly play these two. 🙂

duane I wouldn't say I "follow" music. Chasing might be more accurate. I swear I'm not insufferable, but the only sounds I found from the past 10 years I can get into have been obscured by American music industry, published DIY because, well, the industry sucks. Fortunately if you know where to look, it's not hard to pretend the main stream doesn't exist.

So you people enjoy electronic? I could never get into it. Everyone I hang out with offline love this kind of thing too. You can imagine I'm never asked what we should listen to.

I've listened to all sort of stuff over the years, rock, hip hop, punk, ambient, but I mostly listen to electronic now.

You'd probably be shocked by how many individual songs I've got that were used in anime. (Just because they were in the anime.) Some of them are terrible, but I listen to them anyway, cause they make me smile. 🙂

I was listening to Calling All Cars today when i got ran over by a...car. I was too busy laughing to be pissed about them flooring it before I could see their license plate.

A warning to the children browsing, this is a 2006 music video. It gets a little, mildly, just a tiniest bit suggestive. I'm only throwing that out there because I don't like getting slapped on the wrist. It hurts, like getting your ankle KO'd by a runaway grandma.

When my business partner comes to the office to hang out I blast Lana Del Rey sing to it and dance from time to time. This helps productivity immensely.

This has been going through my head all night.

I love everything about Japan, but for some reason I could never get into the music.

But I will respect how they can go from pop punk, to trance, to heavy metal, to rap, to smooth jazz, and then back to pop, in one song and not have it be strange.

This is about my favorite of all time. Great mix of hip hop, trance, and dub step.

What up with the forum? Do the videos say unavailable to you too or is it just my computer?

cybereality What up with the forum? Do the videos say unavailable to you too or is it just my computer?

It says it for me too. The embed works, in the sense it is properly linking, but then it immediately says it is unavailable. What is strange is for a split second, it seems to full load with the thumbnail, but then it quickly goes to unavailable.

It's up to a youtube author whether they want their videos to show up in embedded players or not. The videos linking you to go watch them on youtube have simply opted out from the embedded players. IIRC this can also be further influenced by regional limits.

Here's an instrumental I made and I'm going to put this one in my game; it's a mix between trap music and Metal; hope you enjoy it:

packrat You won't playing around when you said that Matchbook Romance had a darker sound; that songs real nice. If I would reply with all of my favorite metal and rock songs, I could be accuse of spam. Here songs that have a dark song sound but, a motivational message:

I can relate to the message on this one.

I can also relate this one.
