That is an interesting mechanic idea.
It would just require some visual aid so the player knows where they can fall through.

I actually work a lot on mechanics and controls all the time.
I don't generally talk about it, mainly because it doesn't mean much without a video to show it.
And I kinda hate making videos.
Reading texts doesn't do it justice.
Ever since I made the gravity mechanic I made the way how the player moves more easily tweakable.
Few weeks ago I added in long jumps and backwards.
Both having having their nice pros and cons, giving the controls a bit more depth.
I even made mid-air long jumps, combining it with the extra height of the backwards jump very fun to do.
I also made wall jumping, but that I will have to tweak a bit more.
Calculating angles is painful.
But it works and pretty fun to do.
Yesterday I actually added in a wall hop.
With this when the player hits the wall they can go a little upwards allowing them to make it on the platform.
There is also a climbing mechanic, but that one doesn't work to well.
I may remove it if I can't make it work well.
Some day I'm gonna make a gameplay video, when I have finished a new player model and animations.
