I was wondering if the forum would benefit from a place to post assets we want to see in the Godot Marketplace? I asked this once before and it got nowhere, but I saw on the survey a question about the Marketplace- maybe there's hope for it.

Ie, I'm on the lookout for modular low poly characters that you can put different types of clothes on, customize the color of skin and clothes, maybe eye color, add accessories, etc.

Not sure if such a thread would boost an interest in the marketplace, or offer artists ideas for something to create. What other assets might be good on there? Shaders, 3D models, 2D art, whatever?

I would think prototyping assets would be useful. They don't even have to be good enough quality for a game, but stuff for beginners to play with to get started. For example, an 2D RPG pack, that included tiles for a town or forest, maybe a character or two with a few basic animations (walk, run, attack, etc.). Or for 3D, it could be a low poly character with animation so people can learn how to setup a controller, work with blend states, etc. I think this would be more useful and popular than production ready assets.

Shaders like Adobe's Substance parametric materials.
    That would be cool.

Or a template to a easy way to change values of the shaders in a dock.

cybereality This sounds cool. I "might" be able to do basic animations if I ever get a model done. As you know, I like the low-poly look and studied Unity- I wonder if I could whip up something that would be a cross between our two ideas (modular, low poly and prototyping). I don't have a video, but I once made a basic set of swimming animations for a microscopic superhero, Dr. Spore- the Coronavirus killer. That game is another victim to my project graveyard, but, hey- I learned to make animations with it.

Keep the ideas coming! I may be able to make a prototype set, and then sell more advanced stuff.

Simple decently low-poly fruits, vegetables, and other foods.

I had an idea! A particle maker and editor.
