  • The forums are up again! Migration to new forum platform

Old forum links should be working now! Please give them a try and let me know if it works.

(I purged the cache, but your browser may also keep a cache for the forums - so please give it a little bit if it is not working to clear the cache)

Edit: Now I am going to be looking at the email issue that is causing some users not to get their password reset emails.

Just as a heads up for everyone: I am changing the forum email - now instead of being noreply@godotforums.org it will be GodotForums@gmail.com. This should, I believe, fix the issue where emails are not sending to certain email addresses. I was going to just try and change the email settings for the noreply email address, but my server provider doesn't allow the settings to be changed that I can find on the server settings and via search engine results.

Yeah, I also lost the amazing post count next to my name, but I guess my words can speak for themselves.

Guess we'll just have to collect those accepted 'best answers' score now...sadly it doesn't include the past accepted answers.

I think it's a better score system. Cause you're not getting points for posting jokes. They are legit answers to support questions, which I guess is the intention of having a developer forum.

OctoPatty Done! Spaces are not allowed in usernames in Flarum, so I modified your username to use PascalCase.

How do I view a message when a new topic opens (Start a Discussion)? I couldn't find a preview.

You just write an initial stub with a basic summary/TL;DR and then post it. Once the topic exists you can edit the OP and preview your edits to your hearts delight.

Weird. I had to re-login to get be able to post here.

I hope we get 'new-posts' flags back on the topic areas. Not having them is quite a downer.

New posts are highlighted in white bold. You probably want to click the check box on the main page to mark all posts as read, that way you don't see old stuff. Then the new stuff will be at the top and bolded (also the right number is the number of unread posts). You can also move the mouse to the left side of the screen or click the arrow at the top left to see a short list of newer posts.

A few smiles. Does anyone need the list?

I have a slow connection, and Flarum is mostly spin wheels for me with pages taking 10 seconds on average to load.
Discourse seems superior in this regard.

houkime Depending on the 'discourse forum you are thinking off, they might just have dedicated servers while we are on a shared host. Might have less to do with the forum software, tbh.

Do I understand correctly that the forum allows you to ask a question, then answer it yourself and mark your own answer as the best? Is that the idea?

Yes. It is possible to answer your own question (on the forum, and in real life).

Nice, I really like Flarum. It's a lightweight version of Discourse, while being smoother.
