kuligs2 Fair point and worth being clear about. Yes, free alternatives exist on the Asset Library, and if a basic plugin + self-hosted LLM covers your needs, that's fine.
GDAgent is also a Godot editor plugin, but what it does is different. It's a full multi-agent terminal environment built into the editor: natively run Claude Code, OpenCode, Gemini CLI, Aider, and others side by side in split-view layouts, with workspace restore across launches, custom icons and labels per agent instance and session, a built-in GDScript prompt library, and advanced bundled Godot MCP that auto-configures itself for supported agents.
The free plugins are mostly chat interfaces or basic MCP bridges. GDAgent is a professional workflow layer on top of the actual CLI tools you're already using, ready to go without manual setup.
If you're not convinced just get the trial and see if it's worth it, and I'd love to hear feedback about what would make it worth it if it isn't to you at the moment 🙂
