goldangelcorp Sorry, but I´m not into 2d art, so I can´t really point you somewhere, but there are whole communities around.
But I can think of the "Battle for wesnoth" one, they had really great tutorials on animating pixel characters/monsters.
Your is functional but very basic, the one thing that irks me are the proportions, legs should be wider and the body should resemble a "bell". That way even if proportions are a bit cartonish you get more space for details and colors. Posture looks like the egiptians draw, full body facing the player feels so very awkwards, it should slightly face the direction it´s going or it stopped.
