You ware running two instances of the same script, one of them, that was on the autoloaded node, you were not aware of. And that one was causing the error because it didn't find the node hierarchy underneath itself that the script is assuming it's there.
Happens to people quite often actually.
If you printed the stuff as I suggested, you would have gotten two different printouts, indicating you're running the script on two different nodes.
