JusTiCe8 I looked at a sample video. There's only one line of code there and it's this:

var health=8

All I can say is that I wouldn't buy any programming courses from someone who doesn't leave spaces around operators.

I often feel like compiling what @xyz wrote here and publishing it as a course. Paid, of course. I wonder how copyright issues would work out in this case. 🧑‍🎓 😹

But people are lazy. It works nonetheless. I wouldnt pay for courses either way.. ive been to some (not godot related) and its just waste of time and money.. Most of the time they go over generalities and leave you hanging. The questions you have are often way out of their scope of expertise. If you really want to learn something you better start by practicing yourself. Invest time into yourself.

I believe godot had built in formatter.. i discovered it like 1 year into playing with godot. Its hidden behind some contextual menus... I cant remember if it fixes the spaces around operators, but it sure do fix indentations.

It's not about formatting or fixing it. This seemingly small and unimportant detail is a big red flag. It indicates that the instructor hasn't seen or wrote much code of any kind in their lifetime. In any case, they at least should've put some effort into adhering to gdscript style guide. But somehow I doubt this instructor is even aware such thing exists.

No surprise, creating books and courses is cheap and it's a shitty business too much people goes into, selling craps for too high prices.

It's very easy, you just have to trap enough people, especially you're never accountable most of the time and there is always the good excuse "you didn't work hard enough on you own".

I've even seen on linkedin someone selling a course to create an alleged 500k€/y revenue by... selling courses. The "good old" scam of training seminars on how to get rich +/- quick by writing and selling books on... infinite loop.

Finally, even nicely wrapped course could be quite a crap honestly, I've got some from a well known company around Godot (name start with a 'G', end with a 't') and the lessons are not very great, there are multiple errors and it's not an easy step by step process to follow, + was not yet updated to Godot 4 at the time.
