I see. Seeing someone inspired by your game must be the coolest thing ever. Hope that happens when I publish my first game.

UpsetChicken It's a very special feeling 🙂 . I think one of the keys are to really use yourself as the hardest critic. Try to be objective while developing your own game. Then another aspect is playtest your game with other people as much as you can. Keep iterating until you have something descent and you'll get there.

and yea pretty much what you said. I like the feeling of doing something everyday. I like to problem-solve coding problems, but I also like to do things like drawing assets and making UI stuff in my game. Every day is a small step towards the completion of my game, and I am excited to share it with my family and the rest of the world when it does.

UpsetChicken Another funny thing is, that CocoCode was the first video I ever found. It was about your first game, and there were two sequels about how to upgrade you game and make a player camera. I already figured that out however.

I don't get any feedback at all. The only thing I've been told is that my work has been given a warning for downloading. This, by the way, was reported by a person on this forum. Problem solved of course — I wrote to support. But there was no hint of blocking in the control panel — I just didn't know such a restriction existed. So getting feedback and discussion is a very non-trivial task in our world.

Tomcat Ah yes. Definitely not easy. But still important if you want to increase chances of releasing a great game in the end. When people share demos on this forum, I try to give it a go if I have the time to. But yes, I agree that it's not easy to get people interested in your game.

The main platform is Windows. I'm making a Linux version, but can't test it to see if it works. In fact, at the current moment I consider it already obsolete (not technically, but mostly morally — I've outgrown it). And am doing the next work, but actually a continuation. I want to make some “action” — maybe it will attract attention.

The theory that was voiced to me, says that my work is ignored (probably) because they believe that they are made by a Russian (although in military documents my nationality is indicated as “Ukrainian”, but in fact I have a different nationality) and that the demo version of Chinese gymnastics — and now authoritarian regimes are not very in vogue. And that's the only theory I've heard. (Yeah, politics can't get away from it.)
