Hello Godot creator-mates!

Since a bit of more than three months i've been working on a more complex videogame project!
Now i feel its time to present it to this forum here, and see what people think about it.

The Game:
During the game you play plenty of different space-war missions placed in WW4. If Germany, the United States, Russia...
every fraction has theyr own ship-designs and other things that will be added one after the other.

The Missions:
Playable are 3 missions right now. The first one is playing near earth, and its a spacestation-defence mission. You're
moving a German "Nordel-Class" missile-frigate into battle against the "HMS London", a heavy British destroyer, wich is on the way
for entering a german spacestation.
Second mission is a battle in the earth atmosphere between the USS Ithaca missile-destroyer and two "Nordel-Classes" against two British "HMS Birmingham" medium destroyers.
Third mission is an asteroid-defence mission where you will protect a russian asteroid-base with the "Pskow-Class" medium destroyer
against three French "Lotrée-Class" attack-ships in the Asteroidbelt between Mars and Jupiter.

I think this is going to be the Games Thumbnail picture:

Interesting concept. Is it like a top-down strategy game? Or how will it be played?

The Spaceship fleet that i have already made is shown in this picture:

A video about the 3rd mission here on my YT Channel:

There you can find a few more videos from previous progress-reviewings!
Any future progress information will be added here of course now too!

Im working after the following statement: "Everything you see and hear is 100% self made -made in germany 🇩🇪 !" 😉

    • xyz replied to this.

MikeCL I haven't completely decided in wich way i will put all things together in my project... for now its more"fly shoot destroy and enjoy". Now that i got three playable missions together i focus on improving and expanding them before i add more big stuff.

xyz Yes, im still searching for the best method to make the environment look detailed and "good". Till now i wasn't investing much time there.

Cool concept! And some nice designs for the ships you got there. One visual feedback I got is the thrusters. They look like rocket thrusters, as you might expect to see them within the Earth's atmosphere. Things can't really burn in space. But perhaps it's a stylized approach you are going for. I would probably check some sci-fi references that look cool. But that's just me.

MikeCL The thrusters are really a thing that needs a closer look now, thats right. I think i already have an idea to improve them.

        3 months later

Time for some more NEWS for this project!
The project is now in progress-state A02.6 and the first level is about to be "finished".
Now the focus lies on the other level to bring them at the same state of progress.
A video is already uploading that shows the level "AsteroidBelt" were i was working on all the time now!
I'll share the YT Link here as soon as it has bin uploaded.

Now a few pictures from the Ship-models:

The video is now online! Let me know what you think.

Gaming911 the world is too dark, i know its space, but visually you need to accent stuff around so that its pleasant to the eye and you can see the whole picture whats around you.

          this comes to mind

kuligs2 Thanks for the feedback, you are right it's pretty dark in my space-level. I wanted it to look a little like the Space-Scenes in Stargate. It's just no big light source except of the sun there, like the planet in the video or the gascloud background. In some other levels will be more light, and im still experimenting though. 👍

              Gaming911 which stargate?
              in atlantis

you can still see the outlines of the space ships.. this way you can have a feeling that there is something out there but in your case its too dark 🙂

I thought about SG-1 but yes, i see and i already changed the light_enery from the main source from 0.5 to 1.0 again and will improve the spacelight energy or however i could call it.
I guess i got used to the dark-atmosphere over the time 😅.
