  • Brackeys is back (1.7 million subs) and he uses Godot...

Famous respected Unity YouTuber is back after 3 years of leaving YouTube...

And he's going to make Godot tutorials.

I'm sooooooooo happy. To me, his return means more popularity for Godot. I mean he has 1.7 million subs and is a highly respected experienced guy. This can be a game changer for Godot community. What do you think?

I wasn't sure where to announce this, but that's BIG news.

while-free- I have no clue. Why?

This question surprises me. Google collects personal information, uses, processes and trades it. How can this be compatible with the principles of freedom?

    ah brackeys....
he wants to make money on youtube
he never released a game. i see him more as a promo agent for an engine. i never learned an engine from tutorials tbh.
everybody is cheering for him to be on godot ,but i dont see good things coming from this

    edit
wouldnt surprise me if he was reached out by godot devs

Godot might fall into a pit for profit one day too. Just like with every other free "open source" thing we get. At some point the main devs just gets fed up with and sell their souls to money.

    Open AI?
    StableDiffussion?
Discord - not exactly open source but i heard they gonna sell ads. It was free service and now they gonna make money on people.

I wonder how blender does it.. for years.. still free still no garbage inside the application

kuligs2 Godot might fall into a pit for profit one day too.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. That's why we need a game that can make money for the engine developers to remain independent.

while-free- Nice to see he is back. People and Godot probably will benefit from it. Maybe we should have a look at the numbers of Godot users now and in a few weeks (but where do you get those numbers from?).

      Tomcat I have a question:
How compatible are Google (YouTube) and FOSS?

As compatible as you make them.
It's like with the environmentalists. You can go 50% and for example reduce the usage of car, eat vegan, buy local goods, recycle properly or go full 100% and live in trees and glue yourself onto the roads.

Are you confusing environmentalists with eco-extremists?
