I was able to export projects under 4.1.2. I installed 4.1.3 and tried to export my project today and it failed with. Failed to copy export template. I've looked at the documentation and watched a few vids and I'm no seeing what's wrong.

Screenshots follow. The export template manager says they are installed. But when I try to save the project it says they aren't there.

  • Toxe replied to this.
  • Hm, well it says failed to copy, not failed to find. Could it be a permissions error? It could be an issue either with where the template is installed to or with where the project is exporting to. At the very least, click Open Folder and ensure that the template is there.

I do wish it would give you a more verbose error message.

BriarSMC You could try to manually download the export templates (Godot_v4.1.3-stable_export_templates.tpz, the 900+ MB file) from here and install it from file. Maybe that works better.

I'm getting this error on Ubuntu. "[Prepare Template]: Failed to copy export template."

It was caused because I installed Godot via the Ubuntu Software Center. I uninstalled then just used the download from the Godot website. Works great and can now export without this error.
