Icon Problem

Hello.
No matter what size I load the icon, it gets cropped.
I've looked through many threads but haven't found anything useful.
any help is appreciated

Game_gulf are you talking about the project icon in "application/config/icon"? Displayed on export or..?

Erich_L yes i am talking about that. When I export to android, it is shown as cropped on the phone.

I've noticed that too. You can provide an Android-specific icon in:
Project >> Export... >> Android >> Options >> Launcher Icons

That might be a solution, although I haven't tried it.

DaveTheCoder I couldn't find such a way. did you mean Project > Project setting > aplication > config > icon

My experience with icons is that you just have to upload a ton of them with different sizes for different systems. As I recall there was even a website that would do that for you- you give a high res icon and it spits out 12 or so unique icons.

Erich_L I have a beautiful icon. my problem is that the icon is cropped when i install it on android. what am i doing wrong?

Which Godot version are you using? The instructions I posted apply to both Godot 3.5.2 and 4.0. This screenshot is from 4.0:

DaveTheCoder Okay, I found. I uploaded the icons in the appropriate formats, but the problem did not go away. version 3.4.5

If you can upload an icon here, and describe where you placed it in the settings, I'll try to duplicate the problem in 3.5.2 and 4.0.

By the way, 3.4.5 is considered an old version. You should upgrade (to 3.5.2 or 4.0.1) unless there's a good reason why you can't.

Sounds like it might be the OS then and not Godot. Android and iOS both will take square images but render them in a rounded rectangle, cutting off the corners of the image.

You have to check the Google Android docs for the correct size format. They change it for every Android version and if you don't have the right format it might not look right. Also, it will always be cropped. Android doesn't use arbitrary shape or square icons anymore. Godot works.
