Hi all,

A couple of years ago I made a pact with myself to start sharing more. In doing so I started making some of my tools available for free for others to use. I'm planning to refactor these soon and figured, maybe people here would find this useful.

Currently there's a few Blender scripts that I created. They don't have a GUI yet so you probably need to know how to read a little bit of Python in order to tweak the variables.

Once I get those GUI's done it will become easier to use these scripts.

But for anyone interested, here's the link:

Here's a demo of one of the scripts that does renders multiple objects to unique images:

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!

I refactored the Multi Render script to become an addon for Blender. Really easy to use. Free to download if interested. I made a short tutorial on how to use it. Great if you are making a 2D game, but want to render out 3D assets to separate image files etc.

You can find it by visiting the resource page www.madebylundahl.com/resources

Nice!

Reminds me of the very handy GIMP plugin "Export Layers"

davek Nice! Have to check it out. I'm relatively new to Gimp (been a Photoshop user for ages, but recently left it for Gimp).

GIMP is not as good as Photoshop, but I switched about 2 years ago and now I am pretty proficient. It does the basic stuff well, even if some things are a little more difficult. I mostly use it for resizing and adjusting images, and for that it works easier than Photoshop I would say. It doesn't really have layer effects, and the text controls are basic, so that is annoying, but the filters are mostly all there. But for game development, I would say there are better tools for making art, like Krita, in particular. But GIMP works well enough that I don't need Photoshop and haven't been blocked by anything.

I believe that Krita complements GIMP, but does not replace it. Together they could almost replace Photoshop.

Krita is more equivalent to Corel Painter, while GIMP is a bit more advanced paint.net and there isn't really a Photoshop equivalent in the open source software ecosystem I would say, sadly.

MikeCL Yeah, the layer fx/adjustment layers are things that I do miss.

      And smart objects.

Hello all.. haven't been here for a while.. But I've manage to release a couple updates to the Multi Render addon for Blender.

1.2.0 now supports both Freeze objects, for objects you want to stay in every image, and also Ray Visibility option so the objects appear in reflections and cast shadows etc. even though they are hidden from the camera.

      Hope it's useful!

Hi everyone! Here's something for you After Effects users out there. Recently the tool Expressionista was made free for download. I figured I'd share it here as well. I hope some might find it useful.

A video showing the tool as well as a couple of use-cases.

You can find it here (just scroll down)

Another tool made free for download! Khronos Maker, an extension for Adobe Illustrator (and also works for Photoshop, but I really recommend Illustrator as it's very fast). You might need a zxp plugin installer for this one. https://www.madebylundahl.com/resources

(I apologize for the aspect ration of this video, it was not originally made for desktop)

Another (a bit longer) video showing it in action designing a watch face.

If enough people find Khronos Maker useful I might port it over as a Blender addon or Inkscape plugin.
