i got substance painter 3d from steam looked like a good deal when u need to do textures i think i will try it out on some of my older models and do some refining

Other open source alternatives to Substance Painter include ArmorPaint (paid binaries, but much cheaper than Substance Painter) and Material Maker's painter module (pay what you want).

edit: and for blender there is bpainter, also worth a look.
yes they prob are cheaper but substance painter bakes everything and u can even change texture scale easy if u change your minde and also have loads of great generators and filters to help speed things along to create highlights on textures and stuff i hoppe in the long run it was worth it
Material Maker is easier to use and exports directly to Godot format. It's pretty fast. It's not as good as Substance Designer, but it's good enough for indie textures. And it's cheap.
well material maker do seem more like substance designer for creating tiling materials and not for character and uv painting

Material Maker has a painter module as I mentioned, but it's less mature compared to its material creation module.
