Hello, I am an indie developer and I work alone, I write the music, I do the code, the graphics and the design. I would like to present my 3rd android game (in principle).

In a nutshell. John W. Beans (the name comes from John Wayne beans) is a cowboy who wakes up one day and discovers that his cornfields are being devoured by aliens and I cannot reveal more, you will have to discover what is hidden behind this matter .

2D game Setting: Aridity, dry fields, land, crops, abandoned mines, etc... Genre: Action top view Platform: Currently Android

Actual state: Design: 55% In internal tests through google play. Join the test to receive the advances. The game has an integrated form where you can write your feedback and send it to me simply by pressing a button. If you want to add yourself, I just need your gmail email to enter you in the list of testers, you can tell me right here or by private message.

You can see my works here: - My google play profile: https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=PabloDev - itch.io profile: https://pablodevs.itch.io/

This is the first video I've posted showing a bit of the look and controls, although they are placeholder graphics but they're not too far from the final graphics. Some things have changed since then.

Mockup

My usual nickname is "PabloDev" but I can't change it in this forum. The title of the game is provisional, I'm considering options.

Hello people. A video showing what I'm working on. The behavior of the character is already quite polished, code refactored etc... Here I am testing graphics, tiles, colors and everything in general. I also check the aiming at the enemies and the aiming threshold that the player must achieve in order for the character to face the enemy automatically, thus hitting the target more safely.

Some news. The character has 4 weapons. What you see here makes sense when you know the history of the game. For example the colt with a can of beans. I have implemented this these days, the can is displayed on the fire button and each shot fired is displayed on the can. When there are no shots left, the button must be pressed again to load a new can.

Hello, the development continues. - Final graphics for the character created and implemented. - Implemented weapon selection. - Implemented projectile launch. - Some sounds implemented, in my projects I use my RetroSoundSystem library, in this test I only assign one channel for FX playback, only one fx will be heard at most, they will be ordered according to their priority. - Various enemies implemented, in this video you can see 2, a nest of cobras and one of the aliens. - The theme song for the first level is produced and finished. Also in FM style of course. - Other minor things have been implemented.

The graphic style will be as you can see in the video, the Master System palette is used.

The sound used in the game is generated by FM, in the Sega Mega Drive style. Apologies for the sound, it is a video recorded from the smartphone and sound capture is prohibited by android.

I like the smooth movement of the player. The overall feel is retro.

Hello, I would like to show a short video of the work that I am doing.
Currently the target platform is PC and probably consoles,
an android version is not very clear right now.

Everything that can be seen in the video is in its final state.

If you do an Xbox version, with achievements, chuck it on Game Pass and I'll have a look, the footage looks good 🙂

I have never published in game pass, I have to look for a publisher when the time comes, from what I have been able to read on some websites, the game pass is a good option to have players in your game.
