Hello there.

We just launch our new beta of Pixelyz. Pixelyz is a unique tool dedicated to pixel art and game dev.

We had some brand new features, that will supercharge your work and simplify your art.

Pixelyz was made for artists by artists. Intuitive, clear and efficient as possible. With the main focus being game production. Easy to learn, easy to master :)

The overall design of the tool as geared toward speed and control. Interface was made to be the less intrusive possible.

Create your pixel game character or background easily. Animate them faster, and let's the game begin :)

Any kind of answers or feedbacks are welcome and would be higly appreciated ;)

Kind regards.

It looks good, but don't you think it's too expensive? I mean aseprite costs 20 euros or you can compile it yourself for free. With many similar programs, it seems like a high price to me.

Looks very nice. I will get it and test when I have some time. Unfortunately, I am only covering open-source software for my YouTube channel, so I can't feature this, but if it looks good I will definitely talk about it on social media. Also, for SEO purposes, you should rename the the trailer video to something more descriptive so people can find it. For example "Trailer for Pixelyz, a unique tool dedicated to pixel art and game dev."

Hi, thanks for your feedback, it's always appreciated :)

Did you get any chance to try the demo? If you havent you should give it a try.

To be fair Pixelyz and Aesprite for example are really different. I'd say aesprite like a lot of other software are pixel based. There a lots of viable options but if you are making a game with a lots of characters and animation, chances are that Pixelyz would be a better fit. Vector based drawing and animating is just faster and simpler for iterations, tweaking and animation. And during game developpement you need to be able to change content on the fly.
Pixelyz was build internally at first to replace the software we used to create our sprite. we spent way too much time on content and if we wanted to create a rich world with high quality animation, we realize that our option were quite limited. Pixelyz originated from this, the need for a simple and intuitive tool which could cut down production time.

We have a free trial, available here: https://www.pixelyz.com/demopixelyz We would love to hear your feedback about it :)

Kind regards

Honestly, the price is fine. Charge what you think the software is worth to someone. Especially considering the standard cost for graphics software (usually at least $10/month e.g. for Photoshop) I don't think the price is unfair. And someone could literally create their entire game art from this one tool. I would not charge above $99 but I think $69 is reasonable. Also, I tried to download the demo, but it appears to be Windows only (I run Ubuntu). Are there any plans for a Linux and/or macOS version?

Hi

We are on beta for now, so the support for others versions arent the priority right now. But we plan to start working on a linux version during 2022. And we wish launch it during spring. We will, for sur, communicate on it when version will be refine.

Kind regards

Okay, thanks. I do have a Windows 11 machine, but I use it for testing. I develop on Linux (so all my hardware, graphics tablets, etc. are on that machine).
