  • Ignition. A game about space flight (work in progress)

Hello! This is a long lasting project. I've started it using Urho3D. And now slowly port it to Godot. It is a sandbox physics simulation project. The idea is one can construct rockets and get to space or to a different planet. The key concept of the game is that physics is simulated no matter how far objects are from each other, even if on different planets. No objects are destroyed if got too far from player location. Everything is properly simulated all the time. It is currently being designed as a single player game. But multiplayer is kept in mind.

I'm ~80% done with dynamics. Currently all game objects are processed using Godot Bullet physics engine. Planet trajectories are handled using Kepler equations. One thing to be done is to apply Kepler equations to game objects when those are in space. All functionality is ready, need to add switching from pure Bullet physics to Kepler equations and back when close to a planet surface.

The game graphics is not of any good quality yet. Currently the work is done around the game logic. Please see below for brief impression.

Hello! The game is still under heavy development. I have had some progress and wanted to share the status here. Please see the screenshots below.

Also, I've made an Odysee channel and posted a few game videos there:
