I'm a total newb here. I'm following a tutorial for building a simple game and I must have hit some button by accident because all of a sudden, the Output panel now opens each time I click 'play.' How do I stop this, please?

That should read: I'm a total newb here.
Is there no 'edit' for forum messages?

You can edit a post by clicking the little gear icon next on the top right section of the post. For editing the opening post, you can click the little gear to the right of the title of the discussion/topic.
I do not know of a way to keep the output panel closed when the application launches, but if there is a way I would also like to know! There have been times where the output panel opening has gotten in the way.

Thanks for pointing that out. Don't know why it didn't click with me.

I didn't find anything in the manual, but following my nose, I found it...
Editor (menu) > Editing Settings > General (tab) > Run (section - you'll have to scroll to see it) > Output (sub-section) > Always Open Output on Play
Just untick the box and that's it.
Changed the topic to Q&A so you can mark the previous post as answer if you like.

Excellent. Thank you. I'd forgotten about the Q&A thing. I clicked "Yes" on the wrong answer, though. (doh!)

I believe I undid the post marked as the wrong answer, as I assume it was the answer about the typo, but if it was not the correct one please let me know and we can adjust.
Yup, I think it's all good now. The answer-answer is marked "Accepted Answer."
