Visual Studio 2017/2019 Support

Hello,

I am new here and I don't know if this question was asked before (if so, please apologize).

I really like Godot, the workflow and the clean interface. I WANT to use it. BUT I want to code in C# in any circumstances. Visual Studio Code and MonoDevelop are no options for me. So my question is,if there will be Visual Studio support added in future ?

Since I don't use C#(edit: I mean VS in general) I can't comment about versions but I'm sure that there is at least some "support" for working with Visual Studio. At the very least it shouldn't be impossible.

Hopefully there's someone here who works with some version of VS that might be able to give some advice, but I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't any pre-made project template for the latest VS yet. However if you look for it you might find a template perhaps for an older version you could maybe modify for it?

edit: there is the godot tools on VS Marketplace that might maybe work for VS as well as VS code, might be of some help perhaps(assuming the plugin/extension api is the same/compatible between the two): https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=geequlim.godot-tools

It definitely works with Visual Studio, you have to be careful when renaming items in Godot or VS though, it is a tedious pain when they don't sync up correctly.

No template needed, Godot makes a solution in Res://, just open it in VS and go.

In VS I have ReSharper for refactoring. Has Godot some refactoring functionality too?

Good question, but someone more familiar with those terms should answer that, I'm too new to this :(.

Godot's script editor only has basic C# editing functionality, it doesn't have refactoring tools. This is because the main focus of Godot's C# implementation is to get high-quality integration :)
