  • Super Jump 'n Bump - Coming soon!

Hey everyone - I thought you might like to get a heads up on my latest game made entirely in Godot! It's Super Jump 'n Bump, a local multiplayer party game based on the old DOS game "Jump 'n Bump", you might remember it.

Well now it's got 8 players local multiplayer, full gamepad, keyboard & mouse support, and even an option to split 1 gamepad between 2 people!

And a fully featured level editor with full gamepad support, including the ability to add your own themes (tilesets, sounds etc.) so people can make and share levels just like the old days! To this end, I'm going to try and add Steam Workshop integration for the final release.

This is the "Coming soon" trailer, let me know what you think!

I have fond memories of the original Jump 'n Bump. Nice update.

If there was an option for the player to really tone the blood and gore down, then I could see it being a fun fighting game.

Otherwise, it should be noted that this is definitely not something for kids to buy and install.

The whole point of Jump n' Bump IS/WAS the blood and guts, without it it wouldn't be funny. It's definitely for kids.

That is arguable, but it should also be obvious that people with different cultural backgrounds will see this differently. It's certainly worth considering though that adding a option to turn off the blood might bring in some extra players. For an example, could have the units turn into magical puffs of smoke instead if the bloodless option is set to true. Edit: or maybe confetti? =)

You are right there. I'm just speaking to the context of the original Jump n' Bump. It was released in the 90s, when hyper-violence wasn't yet passe. It was underground and it's target audience was preteens-teens. The kind of kids that get into darker stuff and find it comical. (Like horror movie watchers) I hope this explains my opinion further.

Confetti is funny, reminds me of PyroVision from Team Fortress 2, where you put on rose colored glassed and everything is happy, but really you are setting everything on fire.
