A cinematic or a fps walking demo, it's what Unity is doing in their last graphic showcase, and most users have been impressed.
You see a showcase of pretty graphics and a good looking environment on an engine's website and you think right then that it is the engine for your game making dreams.
You download it, do some tests, you're good.
You start making an actual game, you get bludgeoned with bugs and other issues that block your progress. Uh oh, the marketing never gave an indication that such bugs would even exist (in effect, a commercial company who tells prospective users the many bugs, crashes, and other issues they may face has failed at marketing).
Sure, Godot could use better promotional material, but we want to be honest and upfront as to what users will expect when using it for a project.
