This is a picture of the fish I want to turn into a 3d model. The image has been reduced from it's orginial size. The artwork was done by me.
A fish model I am going to build.
Have you been able to get this modeled yet? Would like to see it.

I still need to learn how to model hahaha. I have learned from CGCookie the fundamentals of sculpting, but I have decided that I need more training. There is a $50.00 video I need to buy and watch.
This guy is really good and has a number of beginner tutorials you might watch....and free
Hey, I did that!

I started by using verts and edges to draw a fish-shaped outline, then I extruded them to build a shape out the side.
Your fish looks good.
Now that I am learning to sculpt, I plan on making this fish in about 1 month. Maybe sooner. I want to finish learning sculpting first.
The base mesh has been created. Now I need more blender lessons.
Here is a screen shot of the current progress on this 3d model. Tomorrow I will watch more video and then do some more work on it.

You might be interested in a vertex shader i wrote to ... animate fishes :) >> https://github.com/frankiezafe/Fish-shader. Hope it could save you hours of rigging!
I decided that the fish sculptor was too rough for retopology, and will be deleting it. I want to stop with the fish project, and try something new.
