Hey there,

I was planning to use an old ThinkPad T410 to do some coding on the road since I'm away from home a lot. On trying to run Godot 3.0.1 on it, I quickly found out that apparently openGL 3.3 is required, which isn't doable on the Intel HD Graphics integrated solution that comes with the i5 M520, apparently.

Does anyone know of a workaround for this? I understand this is due to the new rendering engine used in 3.0, but I am not planning to do any 3D development, my work is and will remain purely 2D. Is there a way to get it to run without the 3D rendering engine maybe? Or am I out of luck/ would have to resort to older Godot versions?

On Linux old GPU can benefit to more recent drivers than Windows. If you are on Windows I suggest to try an update for your driver. If there is no more update, try Ubuntu or Mint without installation thanks to a live USB (or live CD if the laptop can't boot on USB).

For the time being, it is advised to keep 2D development to Godot 2.
