@cybereality said: Thanks @justinbarrett for the bump, I would have missed this thread otherwise.

It's what I do :) Seriously though, I am going to use some for sure...I may chop them up and find some nice loops to use for specific areas or dungeons.

Wow. Just wow. You've definitely got a talent!

I just migrated to Godot and am working on my first big project. I'll be using many of the "Fantasy" tracks for background music, and will be giving credit where credit is due.

Thank you so much for making this amount of content for public use!

@justinbarrett said: I know this is an older thread, but thanks...I may be able to use some of these...or at the least recreate some of the melodies.

You're welcome! And thank you! I hope you find some of them useful!

@cybereality said: Oh, wow! Your music is awesome. Can't believe you are just giving it away for free. I might be interested in using some of those tracks in my game. I'll send you an email so we can talk. Cheers.

Thanks so much! I hope you've been doing well with your development!

You're quite welcome! And thank you! I appreciate the kind words and I'm glad you're enjoying some of the music!

Hmm, I don't know. It depends on what exactly you're looking for! I have an "Epic" section on my site, but I'm not sure if any of them are what you need: https://www.darrencurtismusic.com/epic-trailer

It's been a long while since I posted any updates on here. I've released several new tracks and am just over 150 now. All of them are available to download here: https://www.darrencurtismusic.com

Here are a couple of my newer pieces.

A tension building theme with dark strings, brass and some clocks: "Time's Up."

A sad medieval type track featuring the Bazantar: "Eternal Sleep."

I hope everyone has been well and enjoys the music!

Hello Again,

I'm back with some new free tracks! The first is a dark epic track with booming percussion, powerful, short strings and an intense brass finish. It's called "The Black Blade."

The second piece is a softer, harp melody called "Lake of Destiny." It has a deep reflective feeling.

The third is a cowboy/western theme with a loner kind of mood. I've got a couple distorted guitars in there to give this a kind of modern or hybrid feeling. Here is "Gunslinger from the Brink."

And lastly we have a horror theme that combines a lot of ambient elements with melodic phrases. "They Live in the Mist."

All of these and many more tracks can be downloaded free from my site right here: https://www.darrencurtismusic.com

I hope everyone is well and finds the new tracks useful!

I must complain about the first impression:

The website looks really sketchy because at the first glance, I mistook the Title Card and Category Buttons for Advertising Banners, because of the cheap and discount User Interface Style. It doesn't mesh with everything else. And the Header Font is again different from everything else.

Please just make everything clean and Sans-Serif like most of the text on the website.

@DarrenCurtis I haven't heard any of your music because the shady appearence made me scared to navigate the website and accidentally install a computer virus.

Let's not make assumptions on the price of the UI, as at best that is disrespectful of whomever designed it. Let's keep criticism constructive.

As for the site itself, I don't think it looks that sketchy, but perhaps it's because I've seen a lot of personal websites. While I agree the category buttons beside the site being 100% ad free kinda do look a bit like ads, the rest of the website looked fine to me. The only thing I might suggest to help make the categories look a little less ad-like, is adding a header that says "Categories" or something, just so it's a little more obvious at a first glance. The only other thing I could add, though this is honestly a minor nitpick, is that the buttons under the header are blue, but the rest of the buttons on the site are black. Not a big deal though, to be honest, just something I noted when I was looking at the site and thinking of any feedback I could offer.

Please just make everything clean and Sans-Serif like most of the text on the website.

Well, font choice is part of style, which may be an intentional choice. Regardless, just remember what someone considers "clean" may not align with another person's interpretation. There is something to be said for having websites that are styled.

@DarrenCurtis I haven't heard any of your music because the shady appearence made me scared to navigate the website and accidentally install a computer virus.

Well, I can say the music is not a virus or anything, at least based on my experience, so I would not worry. The downloads I have tested just come with the music in several different formats, but outside of that, there isn't anything that could cause a virus. You can always scan the downloaded files with an anti-virus (before and after unzipping) if you are wanting to double check for viruses before playing the music.

You can listen to the music on their YouTube channel as well, so you don’t have to download anything without knowing what it sounds like.

@TwistegTwigleg Thanks for your feedback on my feedback! I never intentionally deconstructive my criticism, so it's great to know which mistakes I made that made my feedback less constructive than I'd like without really noticing it. At the time, I thought that the sentence

Please just make everything clean and Sans-Serif like most of the text on the website from later in the text was enough to imply what makes the User Interface Style a cheap and discount User Interface Style since I also like to keep my constrctive criticism from becoming longer than it needs to be.

Now I can criticise the website style as: The website looks very suspicious because the User Interface Style is very Inconsistent. Please choose One Style per Element (Text, Button) and use it for every element of the same type. This would make the website look much less suspicious, and hopefully no longer suspicious at all. You can later deviate from the original style for some of the elements, but only if you feel like it's needed and still looks consistent with the style language you established. For Text, you could use a single Font Family and use Filters like Bold and Italic instead of outright different fonts, to emphazize text.

Wow! I just discovered this gem. Thanks for providing this. Your name will definitely be in the credits of my future games.

It's been awhile due to a lot of personal things, but I'm finally getting back up and at it. To start we have an epic, orchestral track named "Epic Nucis." I hope you all enjoy!

@TwistedTwigleg and @Sosasees Thanks for the back and forth and suggestions, both of you. I apologize for not replying sooner. I've had quite a lot of heavy, personal hurdles to jump over recently and haven't had as much time as I'd like to hit up all the forums and maintain everything.

Point taken by the font choices and category buttons on the side. I've done all the website work myself (which I'm sure is obvious) and I've tried to do a little research here and there about site design. I've seen people say you can safely choose around 2 - 3 font styles to offset your headers and main categories from smaller buttons or even block text. It does appear as though I could streamline a bit more of it though. It's definitely something to think about.

@TwistedTwigleg Thanks for the suggestion about the category label for the buttons. I'll play around with something like that here soon. Yeah, my site is ad free and I don't want to appear like it's not, so I'll have a go at that.

@Sosasees Thanks for the suggestions! I apologize for the site looking suspicious. I do have plans to make some changes on it soon when I can. My main intent when I started it was merely to have a landing page for my music, as that's my main focus. Now that it's been up for a few years, I've already remodeled it majorly once (haha, you should have seen it before!). I'll be making some changes soon when I can and I'll definitely keep what you've said in mind. I most certainly don't want to be turning people away by looking suspicious.

I've got a few years log worth of work on Youtube and Patreon, so hopefully anyone who checks it out will realize I'm legit and in it for the long haul. But there's always room for improvement, and the site could use some. Thanks!

@friendMaster2000 Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed some of the music and I hope it helps your future projects!

Best wishes, all. And thanks again for all the feedback!

Thank you so much...I don't always have time to model, animate, code and then pick up my guitar or even crack open some daw to get some vst instruments going...free music and even small music parts are very helpful.

if you ever get in the mood, smaller separate takes(either shorter parts a bar or so or even separate tracks) would be great to use in more dynamic ways(in game).

It's been quite some time since I've updated this, but here we go. I have several new tracks published since my last post. Here are a few examples of some of the newer ones.

An epic dark track "Pay the Reaper." https://youtube.com/watch?v=TADZnSAhUnA

Upbeat hybrid orchestral piece "Break These Chains." https://youtube.com/watch?v=3mn1koUWXac

A hybrid Chinese uplifting beat "And the Sun Rises." https://youtube.com/watch?v=3-zVcHnXv5A

These and roughly 200 more are available to download and use right here: https://www.darrencurtismusic.com

I hope everyone is well and enjoys!

Thanks...been a while since I visited the forums here, but I did sub to your channel and have been checking out and possibly butchering some of your work(editing, slicing etc)..I hope and assume this is ok? Let me know otherwise. and big thanks for your contributions.
