At your link a fellow called vnen has marked it a bug, so there is not much you can do other than wait for 3.0 and it might be fixed there. Or you could try building other versions of Godot from source, to see if they work on your system. The source releases are here.

Building something from source might be outside your comfort levels, so there is a video on Youtube where they show you all the steps. If you want it I will find it.
